ABOUT AIRWALLEX Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own. We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,700 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. HOW YOU'LL MAKE IMPACT You'll help define how Airwallex grows and wins in one of the most competitive and high-potential areas of fintech. You'll lead the strategy, commercialisation, and business performance of our global Spend offering, spanning cards, expense management, and adjacent workflows. - Own the P&L for Airwallex Spend and define the global strategy across cards, expense management, and related workflows, with a focus on growth, adoption, and long-term market position. - Lead end-to-end go-to-market and commercial strategy for Spend, including pricing, packaging, segmentation, market prioritisation, and competitive positioning. - Act as the voice of the customer and the market, turning customer pain points, adoption data, and competitive intelligence into recommendations that shape roadmap priorities and investment decisions. - Partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to balance immediate commercial opportunities with longer-term platform and infrastructure investments. - Build scalable operating mechanisms and go-to-market playbooks that improve conversion, adoption, expansion, and unit economics across the Spend customer lifecycle. - Serve as a central connective point across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Finance, and Operations to align strategy, launches, and execution across regions and segments. You'll work from our San Francisco office three days a week. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Essentials - 10+ years of experience in high-impact roles across fintech, payments, spend management, financial infrastructure, or complex B2B SaaS environments. - Demonstrated success in product strategy, go-to-market strategy, P&L ownership, revenue operations, business operations, commercialisation, or a closely related function, with a track record of driving growth and market impact. - Foundational product management experience, with the ability to engage credibly on roadmap, customer needs, technical trade-offs, and product direction. - Strong commercial judgment across pricing, packaging, segmentation, positioning, and launch strategy. - Technical fluency and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams on APIs, SDKs, payment gateways, card acquiring, local payment methods, and broader fintech infrastructure. - Exceptional structured problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset, with experience diagnosing bottlenecks, evaluating unit economics, and unlocking growth opportunities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex product capabilities into clear commercial decisions and influence senior leaders across technical and business functions. Preferred - Experience owning or shaping a global or multi-region business line spanning product strategy, commercial strategy, and go-to-market execution. - Experience in spend management, corporate cards, expense software, or adjacent financial workflows and infrastructure. - Experience helping a business move upmarket into enterprise segments or expand into new geographies and customer segments. - Familiarity with competitive environments shaped by companies such as Ramp, Brex, Stripe, Adyen, Checkout, or Revolut. - An entrepreneurial, founder-like mindset with high ownership, strong urgency, comfort with ambiguity, and a bias toward action in fast-moving environments. YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF - You're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself. - You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway. - You own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken. - You know when to align and when to just decide. Collaboration isn't a way to avoid accountability. - You connect dots across functions and hold the big picture without losing grip on the details.
