The Opportunity
Help turn emerging technologies into business opportunities. LG is seeking an experienced technical business development professional who can connect research and engineering capabilities with customer needs, identify promising partners, and advance collaborations with practical business value.
You will work with Emerging Technology Lab leaders, engineers, researchers, and LG’s HQ CTO centers and labs to bring innovative technologies closer to commercialization. A key focus will be Private AI and privacy-preserving AI, including secure AI, confidential computing, encrypted AI/ML, privacy-preserving data analytics, and next-generation agentic AI platforms.
About the Team – LG’s Emerging Technology Lab
LG’s Emerging Technology Lab (ETL) is the catalyst for technological innovation within LG’s CTO organization. Based in Silicon Valley and New Jersey, we drive excellence across the CTO organization and LG’s business units by pioneering select emerging technology areas. As a Center of Excellence (CoE), we define and shape key technology domains, setting strategic directions that foster impactful internal and external partnerships and deliver measurable business value.
What You Will Do
• Identify opportunities. Assess the lab’s technology portfolio, conduct market research and competitive analysis, and identify potential partners, customer needs, and opportunities for technical and business collaboration.
• Recommend priorities. Evaluate opportunities and recommend portfolio priorities in partnership with lab leadership, engineering and research teams, and internal stakeholders across LG’s business units and CTO organization.
• Connect technology with business needs. Engage prospects to understand their infrastructure, technology gaps, and operational needs. Collaborate with technical teams to develop proposals and value propositions that address those needs.
• Develop partnerships. Identify and evaluate technology partners for co-development, joint R&D, and licensing opportunities. Contribute to partnership structuring and negotiations, coordinating technical and commercial terms with engineering, legal, and business leaders.
• Manage opportunities through execution. Manage assigned opportunities from prospecting and technical demonstrations through negotiations and closure, with leadership guidance on deal strategy and approvals. Track progress and coordinate next steps across internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate the value of innovation. Present technology capabilities and collaboration opportunities to senior business and technical audiences, working with technical experts to communicate both capabilities and business value.
How You Will Work
You will work independently on day-to-day activities under general supervision, with guidance on new initiatives and significant partnership decisions. You will use sound judgment to evaluate diverse opportunities, recommend practical next steps, and translate evolving business and technical requirements into actionable plans.
What You Bring
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of relevant experience in business development and/or product management, or an MBA and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Industry experience in software, AI, security, system-on-chip (SoC), or IoT, with the ability to understand technical capabilities and connect them to market opportunities.
• Experience evaluating business opportunities, developing partner or customer relationships, and advancing cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with market research, competitive analysis, and data-informed recommendations.
• The ability to navigate evolving requirements, organize work, and move opportunities forward in collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders and explain technical concepts in a business context.
• A demonstrated ability to influence decisions and build alignment across teams.
Additional Experience We Value
• An M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Experience with Private AI, privacy-preserving technologies, confidential computing, encrypted AI/ML, or agentic AI platforms.
• Experience in the digital advertising ecosystem, such as AdTech, connected TV (CTV), or data-driven advertising platforms.
