Senior Manager, FCC Program Management

ABOUT AIRWALLEX Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own. We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,700 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. HOW YOU'LL MAKE IMPACT You’ll lead a global, multi-year transformation of Airwallex’s financial crime compliance framework across operating model, processes, systems, testing, and controls. You’ll build and drive the roadmap, sequencing priorities, dependencies, and risks across complex global workstreams, while using AI, automation, and data tools to improve program tracking, reporting, and delivery. Working closely with FCC and cross-functional leaders, you’ll turn complexity into clear plans, decisions, and action; run disciplined governance across working groups, SteerCos, RAID, and executive updates; and define success measures that evidence progress and support a smooth transition into BAU. You’ll work from our London office three days a week. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Essentials - 10 years’ experience leading large, multi-workstream transformation programs in financial services or fintech. - Direct experience delivering financial crime program change across areas such as AML/CTF, sanctions, FCC operations, and monitoring and testing. - Practical experience using AI, automation, and modern tools to improve program planning, reporting, and execution in complex environments. - A track record of delivering multiple global or multi-region programs at more than one complex institution. - Highly organised, hands-on, and strong at turning complexity into action. - Strong executive presence and clear communication skills. - Project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2. Preferred - Experience in fintech, payments, or digital banking, ideally in fast-moving, global environments. - Background in consulting, regulatory remediation, or large-scale risk and compliance change. - Strong proficiency with program tools, dashboards, and executive reporting. YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF - You're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself. - You're comfortable operating across time zones with a globally distributed team, including colleagues based in APAC and EMEA. - You simplify complexity rather than hiding behind it. - You over-communicate by design. You'd rather flag something early than let it become a surprise. - You know when to align and when to just decide. Collaboration isn't a way to avoid accountability.
