Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS), Global Payments

ABOUT AIRWALLEX Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own. We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,700 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. Read our operating principles https://www.airwallex.com/en-us/operating-principles to see it in full. HOW YOU'LL MAKE IMPACT You’ll build Airwallex’s mobile payment solutions for customers acquiring payments from shoppers across the globe. You’ll lead the development of the Airi Consumer Wallet, Airwallex’s first consumer-facing wallet application and a networked checkout solution that builds a persistent shopper profile across its global merchant network. - Build secure, reliable, maintainable and developer-friendly iOS applications and libraries using native technologies. - Partner with engineering, product and internal business teams to define requirements, develop technical specifications and deliver products end to end. - Improve payment security and customer trust across real-time transaction scenarios, sensitive customer data and global regulatory requirements. - Refactor code and designs with architects to improve maintainability, extensibility and reusability. - Contribute to the broader engineering community as Airwallex grows and the roadmap evolves. You’ll work from our Singapore office five days a week. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR ESSENTIALS - A BS or MS degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline. - 5+ years of professional experience developing native iOS applications with Swift or SwiftUI. - Expert knowledge of iOS frameworks and the broader iOS ecosystem. - A strong understanding of design patterns for mobile development. - Experience working with RESTful APIs. - A track record of writing robust, maintainable code with high test coverage. - Experience maintaining automation pipelines for CI/CD. - The ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Fluency in English. PREFERRED - Experience developing for Android or familiarity with the Android platform. - Exposure to cross-platform frameworks such as React Native. - Experience working with Objective-C. YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF - You're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself. - You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway. - You hold yourself to a high standard even when no one is watching. Quality and accountability aren't external expectations, they're internal ones. - You're comfortable operating across time zones with a globally distributed team, including colleagues based in APAC and EMEA. - You say what you mean. You're direct, but you lead with respect. LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR TEAM Engineering at Airwallex is for people who want to define a category, not maintain one. We're reimagining how businesses interact with finance from the ground up, AI- and agent-native by default, think agent wallets, agentic bookkeepers, and spend-management autopilots, with APIs designed for agents as first-class users. The hard part is trust: building agent-native systems precise enough to move real money autonomously, on top of a decade of real infrastructure. This is a team for engineers who'd rather own an unsolved problem than inherit a mature one. If you want frontier problems, teammates who raise your standards, and a genuine clean slate on world-class infrastructure, this is the place to build it. #Singapore #Singapore APPLICANT SAFETY POLICY: FRAUD AND THIRD-PARTY RECRUITERS To protect you from recruitment scams, please be aware that Airwallex will not ask for bank details, sensitive ID numbers (i.e. passport), or any form of payment during the application or interview process.
