Product Manager, Monetization & Retention

About Sarvam Sarvam is building the bedrock of Sovereign AI for India. The company is developing India’s full-stack sovereign AI platform, building across research, models, infrastructure and applications with a singular focus on making AI genuinely work for India. Sarvam works with leading enterprises and public institutions and is backed by Lightspeed, Peak XV, and Khosla Ventures. Sarvam partners with India’s leading brands, including Tata Capital, SBI Life, CRED, IDFC, and LIC. About the Role We're building India's sovereign AI platform across API, Agents, Creator Studio, and consumer products. Revenue is no longer a side conversation. It's the conversation. We need a PM who owns the full monetization stack: how we price, how we bill, how we keep users paying, and how we win them back when they don't. This role sits at the intersection of pricing strategy, billing infrastructure, and lifecycle marketing. You'll work closely with platform, growth, and product teams to turn one-time users into repeat payers and repeat payers into long-term revenue. What You’ll Do - Plans, pricing, and packaging. Design the pricing architecture across our products. Build tiers that map to user willingness to pay. Run pricing experiments. Decide what's free, what's metered, what's locked behind a plan. - Subscription and billing systems. Own the metering, billing, invoicing, and expiry logic. Work with platform engineering on the wallet, coupons, GST, Razorpay/UPI flows, and renewal mechanics. Make sure the plumbing scales as we add products. - Retention and churn. Build the playbook for keeping users. Diagnose where they drop off. Ship in-product interventions (paywalls, nudges, downgrade flows, win-back offers) and off-product ones (lifecycle email, WhatsApp, payment recovery). Reduce involuntary churn from failed payments. - First-time vs repeat monetization. Design distinct strategies for converting first-time payers and growing repeat purchase value. These are different problems. We expect you to treat them that way. - Loyalty and affiliate programs. Stand up loyalty mechanics that move the needle on LTV. Build affiliate and partnership models where they make sense for our distribution. What We’re Looking For - 5+ years in product management with at least 2-3 years owning monetization, subscriptions, or growth at a startup - You've shipped pricing changes and lived with the results. You know what worked and what blew up - Deep working knowledge of metering, billing, plans, pricing, subscriptions, expiry, and coupons. You've debated Lago vs Orb vs Stripe Billing and have opinions - You've reduced churn before and can talk specifics: cohorts, triggers, interventions, win-back rates - You understand both on-app interventions (paywalls, upsells, downgrade flows) and off-app interventions (lifecycle messaging, payment retries, dunning) - Clear thinker on first-time payer conversion vs repeat purchase economics. You don't conflate the two - Numbers at your fingertips. You don't open a deck without the latest cohort data. ARPU, LTV, payback, retention curves, dunning recovery rates: you live in these dashboards and pull SQL yourself when you need to Why this role? - Real ownership. You won't be one of ten PMs fighting over a roadmap slot. You own monetization across the company. The pricing page, the billing stack, the retention playbook: yours to shape. - Move metrics at scale. Sarvam's products touch the entire Indian AI ecosystem. Our products span across offering models, APIs, applications. - The best product team you'll work with. Sharp operators from the best product orgs in India. People who ship weekly, argue hard, and ship harder. You'll be pushed and you'll grow fast. - AI at the frontier. You'll sit next to researchers building India's foundation models. Access to the latest cutting-edge models, internal research, and a team that genuinely understands how this technology works. - Independence to bet big. If you have a thesis on pricing, loyalty, or a new monetization motion, bring it. We give PMs room to run their own experiments and own the outcomes, good or bad. - The standard startup perks. Competitive cash, meaningful equity, top-tier health insurance, great Bangalore office. And if you win internal hackathons, you get a PS5. Why Sarvam?
