Trust & Safety Ads Operations Analyst, Programs

About the Team At OpenAI, Trust & Safety Operations is central to protecting OpenAI’s platform, customers, and the public from abuse. We partner closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy and Go To Market teams to identify emerging risks, build and mature enforcement systems, and ensure high-integrity operations while delivering a great user experience at scale. We’re building the Monetization Trust & Safety Operations team to ensure OpenAI can grow advertising in a way that is safe, trusted, and sustainable—for users, advertisers, and the business. This team sits at the intersection of operational scale, product risk, and rapid revenue growth, designing systems and operations that enable ads to scale without compromising user trust or safety. It’s critical to us that our Ads product be built in a way that corresponds to our Ads principles https://www.linkedin.com/redir/redirect/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fopenai%2Ecom%2Findex%2Four-approach-to-advertising-and-expanding-access%2F&urlhash=tnG4&isSdui=true, and this team is key to that. About the Role We’re looking for a senior operator to help build and scale Monetization Trust & Safety Operations at OpenAI. In this role, you’ll own critical Ads T&S workstreams from problem framing through scaled operation, partnering closely with Product, Policy, Engineering, Legal, and Go To Market to turn ambiguous priorities into durable operating models. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution: you’ll define scope, align owners, manage milestones and risks, resolve dependencies, and build the workflows, decision structures, and operating mechanisms that allow Ads Trust & Safety to scale. You’ll move between standing up new programs, stabilizing existing workflows, and handing off durable ownership as priorities evolve. As OpenAI introduces new revenue-generating formats and partnerships, you’ll bring structure to complex initiatives that balance user safety, advertiser experience, and business growth. You’ll use data and frontline signals to identify bottlenecks, quality gaps, capacity needs, and high-leverage interventions, and communicate clear recommendations and tradeoffs to cross-functional partners and leadership. In this role, you will: - Own complex, high-impact Ads Trust & Safety programs from problem framing through launch, stabilization, and scaled operation. - Define program scope, owners, milestones, risks, success measures, and execution cadence for strategic operational builds. - Translate policy, risk, technical, legal, and operational constraints into workflows, requirements, playbooks, escalation paths, and decision structures. - Coordinate across Product, Policy, Engineering, Legal, Go To Market, Support, vendors, and other partners to resolve dependencies and keep critical work moving. - Move flexibly across priorities—standing up new programs, improving existing workflows, strengthening handoffs, and transitioning durable ownership to the right teams. - Use operational data and frontline signals to identify bottlenecks, quality gaps, capacity needs, ownership failures, and the highest-leverage interventions. - Drive high-priority escalations and cross-functional decisions to closure with clear context, accountable owners, next steps, and durable follow-through. - Create program mechanisms that make operations run well, including roadmaps, decision logs, status updates, risk registers, operating reviews, and executive communication. - Identify where AI tools, automation, lightweight systems, or simpler workflows can improve speed, consistency, and scale while preserving appropriate human judgment. You might thrive in this role if you: - 8+ years of experience in program management, strategy and operations, product operations, technical program management, Trust & Safety, Risk Operations, Ads or Monetization Operations, or a related field. - Deep familiarity with ads ecosystems, advertiser risk, or high-stakes scaled operations. - Proven ability to take complex, ambiguous, cross-functional work from problem framing through launch and scaled operation. - Strong organizational and execution skills; able to manage many moving pieces while staying focused on the decisions and risks that matter most. - Strong operational judgment and systems thinking—able to design operating models that scale beyond manual review. - Experience building trust and driving alignment across Product, Policy, Engineering, Sales, Legal, Support, vendors, and other partners without direct authority. - Comfort using data and operational metrics to identify bottlenecks, prioritize work, measure impact, and inform tradeoffs. - Technical and analytical fluency to reason about dashboards, data flows, tooling gaps, automation, and failure modes, even if you are not writing production code. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex risk tradeoffs, decisions, and incomplete evidence to operational, technical, policy, and executive audiences. - Experience with launch readiness, QA programs, workflow automation, vendor operations, or AI-assisted operations, with strong judgment around safeguards and responsible deployment.
